Stacy Horn's Bio
The paperback for my new book, "The Restless Sleep: Inside New York City's
Cold Case Squad," (Viking Press) came out in July, 2006.
"Everything I am interested in and have been obsessed with for as long as I
can remember--death and what is lost, abandoned or forgotten--comes together
in this subject. I was born to write it." My second book, "Waiting for My
Cats to Die: a morbid memoir," (St. Martin's Press) came out in 2001. I'm
also a commentator for the NPR show, "All Things Considered."
In 1990, I founded Echo, a NYC-based online service filled with
writers, artists, and professionals who log in everyday to talk about work,
love, how hard life can be, and what's on TV. I wrote about Echo and the
internet in a book called, "Cyberville: Clicks, Culture and the Creation of
an Online Town" (Warner Books).
I grew up on Long Island, received a B.F.A. from Tufts University and the
School of the Museum of Fine Arts, and a graduate degree from the Interactive
Telecommunications Program (ITP) at NYU.
